What is GCF?

The Graduate Christian Fellowship at the University of Chicago is a community of graduate and professional students devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. We promote love, prayer, service, and hospitality. We are pursuing growth and accountability in both our spiritual and academic lives, integrating our faith with our academic disciplines and vocations, and engaging our campus and colleagues with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Service Project

Time:02/23/2008 - 10:00am until 2:00 pm
Place:Unknown

Our service project this quarter will be assisting the Cambodian Association of Illinois, a non-profit social service organization in Albany Park. CAI was founded in 1976 in order to respond to the needs of refugees settling in the Chicago area. In 2004, they opened the Cambodian American Heritage Museum and Killing Fields Memorial. See their website for more information: www.cambodian-association.org

We will be helping in the CAI office with a large mailing and administrative tasks in preparation for an important fundraising event. They have also offered to give us a tour of the museum, so we have the opportunity to learn about their history and work!

Our time commitment is on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10am to 1pm. We will leave Hyde Park at 9am from the Reynolds Club. If you can help drive, please let us know.

We plan to have lunch together afterwards at a Lebanese restaurant in the immediate vicinity of CAI.
