What is GCF?

The Graduate Christian Fellowship at the University of Chicago is a community of graduate and professional students devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. We promote love, prayer, service, and hospitality. We are pursuing growth and accountability in both our spiritual and academic lives, integrating our faith with our academic disciplines and vocations, and engaging our campus and colleagues with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Prayer Requests for Veritas// 24 hour prayer

1) Pray for safe travel to and from the event for Tim Keller. Pray for his protection. He will also be speaking at Northwestern University as well as Chicago. Pray that his health and voice hold up.

2) Pray for Tim Keller’s talk and words. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be active not only through Keller, but also in the hearts and minds of those who attend.

3) Pray that God would draw many non-Christians. Keller’s talk will be based upon his new book: The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism. Pray that the talk would work to draw many closer to a relationship with God.

4) Pray that the Gospel would go forth and be heard. Pray that the presentation would reach the intellectual U of C climate.

5) Pray for follow-up done by the InterVarsity groups/ Campus Crusade/ and the local churches involved. Pray that many people would be drawn into fellowship with both our Lord and with His people through effective follow-up.

6) Pray for Christians on campus and in the community who may have drifted away from Christian fellowship. Pray that they would both come to this event and be drawn back into meaningful Church and Fellowship group involvement.

7) Pray for the strengthening of local Churches and Campus fellowship groups who are helping with this event; pray also for a continued sense and spirit of cooperation among God’s people:

9) Thank God for the ability to have this event on campus; thank God for the funding that has come through from various sources to have this event. Thank God that the University has given funding toward this event.

10) Thank God for his love for the U of C, Hyde Park and surrounding community. Pray that His Kingdom would be established more and more here.
